Substitute butter with olive oil!
Kickstart your healthier lifestyle by substituting butter with extra virgin olive oil. There are many health benefits to cooking with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). In addition to supporting a vegan lifestyle, EVOO is rich in monounsaturated fats, which are heart healthy. Extra virgin olive oil is packed with antioxidants, such as vitamin E and polyphenols so it’s an anti-inflammatory. Also, olive oil is easier to digest
compared to butter, a better option for those with digestive issues.

1. When baking, use about 3/4 of the amount of olive oil as you would butter. For example, if a recipe calls for 1 cup of butter, use 3/4 cup of olive oil. Check out this conversion chart that was created by the North America Olive Oil Association: Butter to Olive Oil Conversion Chart.

2. Olive oil is perfect for sautéing, roasting, and grilling – it enhances the flavor of the food without making it ‘heavy’, as butter can.
3. Olive oil is also great to finish dishes, such as soups and stews, adding flavor and richness without the saturated fat of butter.
